World Cup 2019: WI Vs NZL; New Zealand beat West Indies by five runs:

Carlos Brathwaite fell trying to hit rhe matchwinning six after his spectacular century gave West Indies a chance of a stunning victory in a topsy-turvy match at Old Trafford.

Trent Boult returned figures of 4/30 as New Zealand defeated West Indies by 5 runs in a thriller at Old Trafford to go top of the standing. With just one win after six matches, Windies chances of qualifying for the semis are now almost over. Chasing 292, the Windies got off to a poor start, losing Shai Hope (1) and Nicholas Pooran (1) early. Chris Gayle led the fight for Windies but wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals at the other end. Carlos Brathwaite (101) scored a sensational century but just couldn’t take the Windies across the line. Trent Boult was the wrecker-in-chief for New Zealand as he rattled the Windies line-up with the new ball and in the latter half of the run chase. Earlier, riding on a classical 148-run knock from skipper Kane Williamson, New Zealand managed 298 for eight after a horrific start. Williamson and Ross Taylor added 160 runs for the third wicket, helping the Kiwis post a challenging total. Sheldon Cottrell finished with figures of 4/56.
