Team India are on the back foot in the first Test against New Zealand at the Basin Reserve in Wellington. Virat Kohli and Co were bowled out for just 165 by the Kiwi bowlers early on Day 2 before the hosts accumulated 216 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their first innings. Indian fans were hoping that the fast bowlers would have a field day on the green Basin Reserve pitch but they were left a little disappointed. However, it was only Ishant Sharma who looked threatening for the Indian team on the second day.
Ishant picked up 3 wickets for India despite only returning to the side recently from injury. Ishant had to go through a rigorous fitness test before becoming eligible to play for the team in New Zealand.
New Zealand ahead by 51 runs and India still needing to get five wickets, Ishant is hopeful the team can make a comeback.
